How should I sleep after breast surgery ? Will sleeping on my back help?

Recommend length of supine sleep post-surgery: Six weeks

After breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, or removal), supine sleep is recommended for six weeks post-surgery. This is because any other sleeping position could impair the healing of the breast by inducing too much pressure or movement in the area.

Because it is essential also to keep the head elevated to support the back sleeping positioning, Waking Beauty Layered Sleep System® is the ideal post-operative reinforcement for breast surgery as by the layering of a sufficient number of elements under the head and maybe the upper limbs, the body, specifically the breast area, will be placed in the perfect supine position to aid restorative comfortable sleep.

We recommend super-soft HARMONISE, STABILISE and ELEVATE following breast surgery. You might also want extra arm support by placing ELEVATE under each arm. In addition, this position will help you sleep more comfortably and pain-free in the first days from the uncomfortable presence of the drains to eliminate excess fluid.

See the elements that we recommend in the table below:

HARMONISESuper-soft HARMONISE gives emotional and physical support - Harmonise enables supine sleep while offering the comforting impression of side sleep. It supports the head and gives lateral support to the neck.
STABILISESTABILISE allows individual adjustment in a revolutionary way - Stabilise has a central zip on the reverse, allowing for ventilation and filling variation. Patients have all levels of firmness available in one pillow.
ELEVATEELEVATE raises the head to a comfortable position - Elevate is a small pillow that works synergistically with Stabilise to elevate the head, enabling the patient to retain a certain sleep height.
